ANA Honors Prof. Okai

The Association of Nigerian authors (ANA) has presented Prof. Atukwei Okai, Secretary-General of PAWA with an Award for Lifetime Service To Nigerian and African Literature.

The presentation was made by the President of ANA, Malam Denja Abdullahi to Prof. Okai at the just ended Ghana Association of Writers' Book Festival (GAWBOFEST) at PAWA House, Accra on 21st September, 2016.

Making the presentation, the ANA President noted the lifelong commitment of Prof. Okai to African writers, observing that the latter is a very popular face in Nigeria's literary and intellectual communities.

He said for many years, the PAWA Secretary-General has been part of historic literary moments in Nigeria and beyond, adding that the Award was made in 2015 at the 34th International Convention of ANA, where Prof. Okai could not be present. Hence the presentation at GAWBOFEST in 2016.
